
On November 10, 2020, a lunch was held at the premises of the Military University Institute (IUM), with a later plenary meeting in the afternoon, of the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), chaired by the new President of the CRUP, Rector of the University of Porto, Professor António de Sousa Pereira who replaces the former President, Rector of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Professor António Fontainhas Fernandes.
This meeting also included a presentation by His Excellency, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Professor Manuel Heitor on “Financing Higher Education”.
This is a meeting that takes place on a monthly basis between a group of public Universities, ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Universidade Católica Portuguesa and IUM, in a total of 16 higher education institutions, seeking in this measure to constitute a nucleus of significant representativeness an important part of the national system of Higher Education, being a coordinating entity for university education in Portugal.
