On October 21st, the Portuguese Military University Institute organized the “Hybrid Threats and the use of cyber domain” webinar for strategic / operational planners and academics, to raise the awareness regarding Hybrid and Cyber Threats as well as the possibilities they open for developing European Defence capabilities.
The event was moderated by Captain Fialho de Jesus and has had the participation of Dr. Josef Schröefl, the Deputy Director of Community of Interest on Strategy and Defence at the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats; Mr. Wolfgang Röehrig, Head of Unit Information Superiority in the Capability, Armament and Planning Directorate of the European Defence Agency and Lieutenant Colonel Ignacio Pizarro, head of the Operations Branch, at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Center of Excellence.
Despite the webinar has focused on the Joint Staff Course curriculum, it was attended by 150 international participants, from 23 nationalities who are representing a wide range of national and international organizations/institutions.
This period shed the lights on those “new” trends, providing a forum for discussions among joint staff course students, international experts and other communities of interest representatives.
